Something for the Weekend - Part 234 - Clove Hitch!

Hi,
Well done to all you posted images in our last, 'vital spark', challenge. There were some clever interpretations of the spark plug.

This week our starting ingredient is one which may be more familiar to the cooks among us. It is a dried clove but instead of using this one for flavour we will use it in creating an image. What can you make with it?

The “rules”:

  • Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
  • Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc.
  • Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”.
  • There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
  • The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.

To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun!

Dave

Haha. I love both the idea and the execution on this one. Nicely done Trevor.

This could be the first clove sent into orbit. I see you got it in twice, at the bottom and the top of the rocket.

You may not have known this, but the secret fuel that brought the people to the moon were the cloves... 🙂

I have learnt a lot from doing the SFTW threads over the years.  You get an idea and have to work out how to make it happen, or you see something interesting from other posters, and can ask them how they did it.  If you are following these threads, then you probably like to create from scratch, or addapt existing images, so I thought I's share a YouTube channel I discovered recently.  It's full of pretty good effects, and I have already found lots of new tips and tricks.

Check it out. 🙂  https://www.youtube.com/@NemanjaSekulic/videos

I thought this gorgeous Georgia O'Keefe painting in the O'Keefe Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico needed a bit of embellishment. It's called "Stump in Red Hills" and she painted it in 1940.

It's trending towards being Daliesque.  I'm sure the original artist wishes she'd thought to add the cloves.
