Something for the weekend - Part 57 - Snow

Hi

Many in the northern hemisphere will have seen some snow this year. So I thought we should have a snowy scene as a starter image this week.

I've made the empty scene in Blender (the distant mountains are real). What will you now add to the image so that it tells us a story?

As always, anything goes as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to have a go - whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.

There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!

When posting back your edited images please use jpeg and downsize to 1200px on the long side.

To download the image below in jpeg format with ICC color profile (sRGB) and without the forum scaling artefacts , right click and then use Save Image As /Save Target As (or similar depending on your browser).

Have fun

Crocus sounds like an invitation to have someone strangle you.   Not something I'd risk saying in certain places.

I like the graphic Jacob.  Did you design it specifically for your gag?  The nearest I can get from the text is

The first gringo broke the border fence on January 31, 2020.

The reward is 20,000 pesos for each illegal immigrant caught

escaping the climate change.

You have the text right (Google seems to favour the US date format for some reason), Trevor.

The graphic at the bottom is the coat of arms of the country with the flag colours shown at its bottom (the flag consists of the three stripes with the coat of arms in the central white stripe), taken directly from Wikipedia.

Gag?

Nice one Jane - it must have been hard work cycling up that hill in soft snow

Jacob, thanks for noticing the shadow, and Dave, thank you for the kind words.

To both of you, she did work hard, but it wasn’t cycling up the hill or staying in the tire track. Those were both easy for her!

Jane, if it is easy for her to stay on track, in the track, I wonder whether she has studded tyres.

Still pondering over her working hard.

Studded you say?  Why settle for studded?

You can get some crazy lean angles with tires like on ice.

Indeed, Trevor; I also thought of spiked, but settled for less as you said (thinking the wheel was too large).

Following Jane with someone getting exercise, here is an option for elite athlete training. The Bolt image I found was low res so the image is quite small. I do need to work on the shadow a bit more.

Yes, Bolt is so fast - you don't get footprints

Well, Trevor, strange things come to light these years; a while ago I saw something about Yeti research suggesting a rather close relation. By the way, the polar artist duo still have a somewhat oily appearance from before the mutiny (unchanged by the rest by the waterfall).

You are closely related to a yeti?  How cool is that?

Hi

Dean - Is he as fast in the snow as he was on the track ?
Jacob - Penguins and polar bears in the same place, it's a mystery ! It appears a certain tunnel has crept into the image.

Joan - I like that it would make a good background for a "visit here" poster.

Jane - That made me laugh - a good take on a very old joke

Trevor - If you were racing with tyres like that you'd certainly have to trust the rider behind you if you fell off. At that angle, I wonder if he made the corner or slid off into a drift.
