Hi
It's 50 years this year since man first stepped onto the surface of the moon. I watched a documentary, last week, on NASA's plans to send astronauts to the moon again by 2024. It showed artists impressions of what a base on the moon might look like with modern technology. Which got me thinking...........
I've produced a 3D render simulating the moon surface. Can you show us what it will look like when man/woman returns.
Anything goes as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to have a go - whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.
There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
When posting back your edited images please use jpeg and downsize to 1200px on the long side.
To download the image below in jpeg format with ICC color profile (sRGB) and without the forum scaling artefacts , right click and then use Save Image As /Save Target As (or similar depending on your browser).
Have fun

I've just discovered something. If you repeat a filter (Ctrl Alt F), then it goes right ahead and uses the previous settings for the last filter used. But if you make the layer a Smart Object — even if it is a single raster layer with no relationship to what has gone before — this time when you repeat the last filter, it opens up the dialog window for that filter, so you can use different settings. I have only done it the once with an Eye Candy filter, but it will probably work for other filters.

Dave, I had to snap a pic of your lunar module when we were at Air and Space this morning. There are 55 more photos here: Lunar Module LM-2.

Dave,
Seeing the photo taken by Jane I wonder whether a pulley system would be called for, or a (step/A frame) ladder, or maybe I have simply underestimated the height requirements for space women.

Dave,
After posting it occurred to me that just bouncing might do it; that would also be in line with one peg apiece.

NASA has made their images free for public use, btw. The "Most Popular" tab is slightly more interesting than the "Newest Uploads".

p.s, made in Adobe Dimension using only free Adobe Stock models and yes Adobe knows their sync server isn't working ... if you have issues getting your library to sync then see this https://windowsforum.com/threads/workaround-to-get-adobe-stock-working-with-adobe-dimension.244478/ for a simple work around

The shuttle was a bit of a last resort, as I couldn't find a suitable '2001 A Space Odyssey' Pod/Module to use. Like many of these SFTW images, it started off in one direction, which prompted the Hal Vs Dave gag. Hmmm.... Hal only has one 'L' doesn't it? I feel an edit coming on. (Now fixed)

This was very timely. With the conversations we've had about reflections recently (actually some of them were via email) plus Graham has been advocating the use of Dimension of late, the Photoshop Training Channel has just uploaded a real stonker of a tutorial. Go Jesús. You are totally the man!
