System error warning when using Fill command in Photoshop 23.0.2

I'm having an issue trying to use the Fill command in Photoshop 23.0.2.

I try to fill a selection and get the following warning dialogue:

"Could not clear because of a program error."

I then have to save the file, shut down and then restart Photoshop.

Is anyone else having this issue and how do I get around it?

Apple iMac, late 2014, Big Sur 11.6.

Might be the same thing I ran across:

When I try to fill a selection on an alpha channel, this only works if I have a layer highlighted in the layers palette, otherwise I get a program error. Comparison:

Mac Studio, OSX 12.6.8, PS 2024 25.3.1

Jeffrey...
Thanks for the response.
However, as I am a Graphic Designer, using Photoshop constantly, I don't have the luxury of time to fiddle with the settings, so I have uninstalled the new version and reverted to version 23.0.1, which is proving to be stable and working properly.

I'll wait for Adobe to sort the issues out before I upgrade.

Go to Preferences > Performance... and uncheck Use Graphics Processor. Restart Photoshop. Does the problem persist?

Thanks for the tip, but, no, removing the Photoshop preferences does not fix the problem...

If you restore your preferences using this manual method does it work correctly?
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually
If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.
