Tabs issue when having multiple files opened in Photoshop

When working with multiple tabs, if im working on tab "A" and i jump to tab "L", finish working on it and save it/close it.
Photoshop will throw me back to tab "A", is there a way to have photoshop open tab "M" or "K" (closest tab) instead of the last viewed tab?

I am testing with latest version of Photoshop on Win and that is exactly what is happening: Photoshop will switch to last viewed tab. I do not know for workaround nor for option in preferences which I believe does not exist.

    It seems to be working fine at my end, could you please let us know the version of Photoshop and the operating system you're working with?
