Text Bubble in Photoshop

Community Beginner ,
Oct 09, 2021 Oct 09, 2021

I'm trying to insert a text bubble in photoshop. Instead of what I normally see whan I click on the shapes selection, I now have folders with very specific types of shapes, not the normal text bubble, starburst. heart shape, lightening bolt, etc. that I've seen in the past. Anyone know how to change this back?

Click the gear icon for more shapes.

Clicking on the gear icon just brings up this dropdown window, no shapes.

Hi @Kurt S

Instead of using the options bar, go to the Window menu and open the new-ish Shapes panel. Use the panel menu to bring back the Legacy Shapes.

I'm not seeing new-ish shapes, just the shapes option, and when I select that, i get the same 4 folders as before.

You're welcome, @Kurt S .

Can you re-read what I wrote and let me know if I wrote it wrong or you read it too fast? 😊

The Shapes panel came out with PS 2020 in the fall of 2019. I wasn't positive about the date, so I wrote "new-ish", but I've since looked it up.

Glad you got it sorted.  For future reference, this is the gear icon I was referring to:

No worries!

Also, I've just found this from Adobe's Help, which duplicates what Barb and I both said:

Hi @Kurt S :

As per @jane-e, start with Window > Shapes, then:
