Make sure you change the font size and colour to a readable size and colour – have a look at Photoshop's Character Panel.

Does it show up in the Layers panel?

In addition to what Derek said about size and color, there could be issues with opacity, blending modes, effects, etc. Show a screen shot if you don't see it.

It shows up in the layers panel but not on the artboard.

They said I must switch off faux bold but it is not on.

The font size simply doesnt want to change either.

I uninstalled photoshop and installed it again but nothing waht to work.

Hi

  • What version of PS do you have?
  • What OS?
  • What is your Zoom level?

In the Layers panel, you should see a "T" to the left. Double-click that T, then go to the Window menu and open the Character panel. Show a screen shot of your canvas with the selected text, your Character panel, and the Layers panel.

Hi

Your type size is zero pixels. Try selecting the text, then make it larger.

You can also reset the Type tool. Right-click the Type tool in the options bar (not Tools panel) and Reset Tool.

Try resetting Preferences. Go to Photoshop > Preferences > General > Reset Preferences on Quit. If you have created any assets, such as Actions, save those first.
