You can save only action sets, not individual actions. Select action set and try again.

Can you post some screenshot with problem visible? Perhaps you can expand action to see which step ius problem. I do not quite understand what is actual problem.

If you want to record step to save file then you can use Save As. Otherwise Save command is active only when you have made some changes to open file.

I'm trying to export an Action and the "Save Action" function is greyed out.  (Clear, Reset, Load and Replace are all working.)  Any ideas on how I can get the "Save Action" function to work?  Thanks.  Leslie

Thanks.  I knew I was missing some key step, but couldn't figure it out.   I thought I had an Action Set, but of course I only had an individual action.  Works much better now!!!

Unfortunately not as my 'Save Action..' option is greyed out and not letting me select it. Thanks anyway.

Is the action a set as per

In order to save out one or more Actions in Photoshop, you must have a Set selected. For example, if you select a single action, the Save command will be grayed out, but selecting the set (even if it only contains one action) will allow you to choose Save Actions from the flyout menu on the Actions panel.
