Transform box dotted, not blue...?

I'm sure this is something humiliatingly obvious, but I've searched and cannot find the answer.

My transform box has changed from a solid blue line to a dotted black line.

How do I turn it back to blue?

It still functions.

I know how to hide and show transform controls. This is not the issue.

I have reset prefs, and even uninstalled / reinstalled PS keeping nothing.

Mac 10.13.6

PS 21.2.4

tia!

Hello my friend
I found the solution to this problem because I had this problem myself. You have to turn off the Deactivate Native Canvas option in Photoshop settings

Yeah from time to time, it happens to me too. Like when I open Photoshop one time out of then there will be this issue and at the same time, the program is lagging as hell. Usually, reset is helpful, and when I reopen the problem disappears. This is so weird.

Right - just the last weeks Photoshop has started freezing after aabout 10 minutes, then unfreezes and lags like crazy and Transform control turn dotted black - and THEN I get these weird balck artifcacts around the artboard edges. Seriously irritating.

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?
Does turning on »Deactivate Native Canvas« (Photoshop > Preferences > Technology Previews) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

Go to your stroke pallet and be sure it in not on a color or int the case of the dotted line same issue, make sure your stroke is no set wit a dotted line.

I found a solution guys just keep using the graphic processor and try to change your graphic card in my case I was using intel and then I switched to Nvidia using the panel in the home screen of the pc it's not a big problem so don't worry it can also fix it self

Could you please post a screenshot taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?

Is a Selection active?

@c.pfaffenbichler thanks for the reply!

Here's a screenshot of everything.

(For some reason I cannot edit the op.)

No selection is active - this is in every document, even new ones created from scratch.

My paths are also black, not blue.

I'm sure this must be a really obvious setting somewhere, but I cannot find it.

It started after the most recent update about 5 days ago.

Paths are also black now.

The option to change the path colour is disabled.

I have switched "Use Graphics Processor" on and off in Performance preferences and restarted to no avail.

All was fine before the last PS update on this machine - blue paths & transform boxes.

I have the exact same issue. When I open a document and select a layer, it shows those dotted lines and not the blue transform rectangle. It mostly happens when opening up an existing photoshop-file. But not every time. Sometimes it works just fine. Only fix i found was closing and restarting PS until it is back to normal. Totally annoying! Please help!

(P.S.: I am running the PS 23.3.0 version on Mac OS Monterey 12.3.1 - iMac 40GB Ram, 3GHz Core i5, 4Gb Radeon Pro)
