Unable to save Printer Settings or User Defined Paper Size except when opening Photoshop as administrator.

Here is what I do for paper size:

- Open Print Dialog

- Click on "Print Settings..."

- Click on "Usee Defined..." in Paper Settings

- Change Width and Height

- Change Paper Size Name

- Click on "Save" -> new setting gets added to the Paper Size list

- Click on "OK" -> new setting is at the bottom of the "Size" combo box

- Click on "OK" in "Print Settings" dialog

- Reopen "Print Settings" -> the new setting is gone

Using version 24.5.0 on Windows 11

Printer: Epson P800

i fanlly figured how to solve the issue.

First I disconnected the printer from the computer. Then I went into settings , Bluetooth and Devices and removed the printer.

After this I went to start, control Panel, System and Security, Windows Tools, double clicked Print Managment, All Drivers, right clicked on the printer driver and delete.

Rebooted the computer and reinstalled the driver.  This solved the issue.

@marc28270747vqnp None of those settings are Photoshop settings. They are all settings within the Epson printer driver.
If you want a different paper size, define a new one and give it a name (in the right hand panel). Then go back to the centre panel in your screenshot and select that newly named size under Size. Finally go to the top and Save the setting  with a new name.

On my SCP5000 which has the same driver, I have several settings saved under 'Select Setting' they set the media type, quality etc Then under paper size I have several settings saved which I can use for the common sizes I use for printing. Selecting one of those feeds back the selected paper size to Photoshop's print dialogue.

Current settings is just that and can change if you use the printer from another application, however changing them back is as simple as selecting the named set of settings you created above.

Dave,

The problem: I have created a "user defined" profile for my 5.5 x 8.5 paper but the system does not save it. It reverst atuomatically to the 8.5 x 11 and my saved one is gone.

Hmmm?  No idea why this works, but it does.  I've been frustated with not being able to delete certain paper sizes (the first two or three created at the top of the list), as I always get the message “Cannot delete this setting because it is used in a Select Setting” .  By going in & retyping the Paper Size Name & retyping the width & height, then closing out & reopening the Print Dialogue, I'm able to delete them.

I have the same problem with Photoshop 24.  Have tried updating and using older PS as well as other things suggested on this thread without any luck. Thanks for any help with this problem.  I have people waiting for my prints and I need to fix this problem.

Curious @Emmanuel SF  if you hold the space bar down when going to File/Print - that will reset just the print dialog box instead of the entire program. Then try your process, does it save now?

If not,

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere:

Restore your preferences using this manual method:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually

Does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
