Using the Pen tool in Photoshop

I have ben using the pen tool to create paths to clip out objects. I have recently found that the tool stops working properly. It will create the anchor point, but not the line using the rubber band. So I cannot create a path. I have the latest version of Photoshop.

A known bug in Photoshop 22.3.0 

Work-around: Maintain a Work Path, then working on named Paths should perform as expected.
