Variables - Import/Preview is changing the Font size on replacement!

Question

Have a simple PSD with one text field with place holder text of "some name", set to a specific font and size - with a name of "fullname". I define the variable, choose the layer, choose "text replacement", and then go to Next. All of sudden the font size/preview jumps up to some huge size. This is weather I import or not, just on the preview. And it randomly changes even larger when I do an import and step through the data sets.

I have a production job I need to get out, and this is killing me!

I see this is an old post, but since there's no reply and others have been looking for solutions to it too...

This has been driving me crazy for a year and I finally found a fix that works for me. It's incredibly dumb.

Make sure the "Preview" check box is checked when you get to the Variables>Data Set window before importing anything.
Import your dataset. The preview will be wrong with huge font for at least one data piece.
Untick the preview box.
Re-tick the preview box. (Your correct font styles are now showing.)
Apply.

It seems turning "preview" off and on again causes it to reparse the content and styles. Hope it helps someone else.
