@graceful_Swirl98A2 Photoshop version 26.0 requires a CPU with AVX2 support, you can continue using the previous version available from the Creative Cloud app.
Pre-2013 CPU's do not have AVX2

@graceful_Swirl98A2 that's something you need to take up with Adobe, you really can't expect pre-2013 PC's to run all modern software, hardware requirements change all the time as software is being developed/progressed

You can continue using a version that works until you can upgrade your computer and OS. Until then, be sure to turn off automatic updates for applications in the CC app.
In the past 35 years, I've had to replace my computer multiple times because it would no longer work with new software, but I cannot imagine using a Compaq 286 and Mac SE/30 with today's applications.

HI Dexter; i really agree with you. I have an old HP Z60 with 2x XEON E5-2667V2, 48 Gb RAM , and an RTX2070 with perform very well with 3D conception soft or video editing soft ... than i think PS26 or LRc14 run on my PC .

I use PS CC, PSBeta CC Bridge & Camera RAW and yesterday I was told to update. Camera RAW will, but when I tried to do the others I got a notice telling me my Processor was incompatible. I have the update request notice blocking part of my workspace which I cant remove, and I cant now upgrade the software. Is adobe telling me I have to spend 1000's on a new PC for me to be able to use the software in future?
Any ideas of what I can do
The issue is AVX2 apparently, screenshots attached

to remove the popup, reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:
Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R
to see the needed specs, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/system-requirements.html

That worked on PS, but not PS Beta where it just brings up performance overlay, ahh well. My CPU has worked fine with PS until this update, has the AVX2 requirement been added in this update? Its just this issue that is stopping the update. all else specwise is fine

Yes I'm aware of the specs, which means I'd need to spend a huge amount of money on a new PC if I wanted to continue with PS CC - What I mentioned above though relates to the update message that appears in my work spce causing a further issue. Ctrl+alt+R doesnt remove it

if you want to remove the update notifications you can do that in your cc preferences.

This is one of the threads I participated in that stated there's no technical evidence that AVX2 is required for photo editors, and no other professional editor outside of Adobe requires it. The motive, then, is commercial and quite immoral, seeking to force—I repeat, without technical justification—subscribers to buy new computers despite having computers fully capable of running professional software that's much more demanding than a photo editor. This is accelerated and forced obsolescence.
Since other posts that discussed this situation in more detail seem to have magically vanished, a quick search reveals a video of the procedure. Be careful, everyone should do so if they're curious, but they do so at their own responsability. I won't respond to the detractors with unprovable technical arguments because they "accused" me of not respecting the community rules, without engaging in a direct debate, face to face, that is, acting behind my back, they deleted my account and all my previous posts. Such misconduct never occurred (nor could it be proven when I appealed several times), but these days, debating is considered "offensive."
Watch it for general information only. If you want.
