What mean 'student' for adobe?

Hello. If I dont have a job I m a student? I'm housewife that need to study photoshop, but I don't have job.
I'm not professional and I don't have a work. How can I  get   photoshop  for who is not a professional and just housewife that is a student as try to study it?

Sorry, but you need to have official credentials from an approved educational institution (university, college etc) Otherwise everybody would be a student for the price cut... 😉

I can understand, but it's not a fault of us that are really honest to be not a professionals if someone says to be a student and it's a professional with a lot of money to spend with a job.... 
I think photoshop should be sold for different type of people. 
How I could ever pay a subscription or pay a full price of this expensive software , as if we are all professionals photographers, yet , if we don't study it, we can't even find a job to support it... I think Adobe don't know how many suffers of lack of possibility to find a graphic job as photoshop is standalone and not all can permit to pay so expensive prices...
To give an example, a famous photographer company that sell plugings for photoshop  (used also by photoshop users) the other day, give me a full access to their obsolete version of their softwares, they was very supportive and see the situation, and helps a lot.

Adobe breaks all my dreams... not even we can start if we can't use a second hand software of very discounted student prices...

A Photoshop-only subscription is $23/month, but no one should be using this plan because the Photography Plan below is a better deal.

The Photography Plan starts at $10/month which is quite affordable, costs less than many video streaming services that are not even productive tools, and it includes the full professional version of Photoshop (along with Lightroom and Lightroom Classic). This is what would be recommended. If you are learning, remember that even the one-year plan at this price is less than what many Photoshop training classes cost!

Photoshop Elements is a simplified version made for home/light users. It is not a subscription and although the normal one-time price is $100, it is often found for much less during the holiday shopping season. But, of course if you are trying to learn the professional version of Photoshop, Photoshop Elements is not really an option. But it is definitely a version made for people on a lower budget.

Tengo la idea de que hay cursos online por entidades que consiguen para sus alumnos precios especiales de estudiante. Es una sugerencia, aunque por cómo te expresas seguramente sea una alternativa que ya descartaste.  Si es así, probablemente exploraría alternativas con mis contactos , poner un anuncio, etc.   Se ve que eres tenaz por lo que seguramente conseguirás lo que quieres.

Here are the terms for student/teacher eligibility. You have to show proof to Adobe, not to the volunteers who are answering your questions.

The education plan is a discounted plan for what is called Creative Cloud All Apps. It is still more expensive than the deeply discounted Photography Plan (annual), which can be paid at $9.99 per month for the year. If Photoshop is what you need, this is more affordable than the education plan.

Thanks, Im not a student of School but self-student amatorial  of 40 years old... 

the problem is that I need a Photoshop that is paid one time only, at least, until I will not become (if I will become) really professional to the point I can afford to have a software just for subscription

The point is that Photoshop became standalone and all courses are for Photoshop. And I prefer only Photoshop. 

I think I will need to find a genuine Photoshop cs6 second hand and use this.

I dont have a financial situation that permit me a subscription for 3 years at least. This is the necessary time from when one start to learn and then try to improve and find a job requires even years before find something that permit you to afford a subscription.

Subscription is good only for professional Photographers and who have a serious job, not for housewifes that are mantained by others... that is trying to learn it, its really a problem. I will try to find a second hand software.

I take a look to the plans but I was not able to find Photoshop $9 euro /month.

I can see if I remember well, something like 22 $ per month. or 19 $ /month. 

But its still a problem for me,  228 $ in an year. 

I'm calculating that before I can seriously improve and seriously find a job, I need at least 4 years of study, learning, training and hoping  one can be really ready to bring these Photoshop studies to something more professional. Is not something easy that happens in few years, but until then, if one will be really able to find a path, the problem remains, who can pay the subscriptions for so many years, which it will cost at the end more than to purchase one time only a software? 

If one purchase Photoshop one time only, with many efforts, and things will not going well, at least Photoshop remains as is one time purchase only and at least, one can still use it. But If things not going well, one loose Photoshop, and cant even keep what like to do, that is to create. And loose Photoshop because not make sense a subscriotion anymore if one can have a careeer from a software so expensive (because Photoshop is very expensive especially with time). Is not a matter of 300 $  for years   but In the long time, it become very expensive and even if for some is easy to subscription and mantaining is not easy for everyone. 

One could say, use a different software, but we know that Photoshop is the standalone And I prefer Photoshop. I still think that Adobe should permit at least for certain users, to sell again the old versions of Photoshop Cs.6. This is not good maybe for professionals, but for users like me is still ok. Why they dont sell it again? Not all have possibility of subscriptions and yet Adobe can still have Monthly incomes from professionals that need more features, clouds, IA, etc etc.. 

But lets image to pay a subscriptions for users that dont need it: 

19 $ /month is 228$ 

228 $ x 4 years is 912 $. 

For me, as user, that Is not professional or have  a job, how could afford to pay a software around 912 $, when the price of a software is or should be for single users not professionals at least more affordable around 700 or max 900 $, one time only payment, at least for the users that are not Photographers and dont need to update it with leatest Version, like  Photoshop cs6, one can use it for 5 or 6 years  and dont need to update? If after 5 years, one find a job and things going well, then, of course one can afford 19 $ at month (even though, what will happens to the world, if everyone softwares will start to ask subscription as well) how even with a job, one mortal person  can affords so many subscriptions?) 

Theres the monthly subscription of the mobile, the Monthly earnings to consider for paying the taxes, the Monthly consideraton of fuel, the Monthly medical expenses (for who have medical expenses each month), and many others expenses. But at least with a job, one can save money to have also Photoshop subscription. 

But for who is starting, not have a job, how can afford a subscription? 

Considering that 4 or 5 years of subscriptions make this software a very expensive graphic software ( at the end, one will spend something like 1.140. 00 €).. how an housewife could spend 1.140.00 € to learn a software that is not even sure it will bring a job career also? 

Is really a problem.. 

I've found many sells Photoshop cs6 versions on Amazon. This old Version even if not updated is good for who, is not professional. as Adobe knows they sells on Amazon,  is appreciable that  Adobe understanding and give possibilities also for who dont have jobs or professional careers, yet  , like housewifes or people of this sort.

Are you aware that you are talking to volunteers and not Adobe? We can't change anything; we can only tell you what your choices are.

Photoshop has been subscription only since 2013. That is unlikely to change. Microsoft Office, Quicken, BitDefender, and 1Password are also subscription now. It's not just Adobe.

We need to advise you that if you purchase CS6 in 2023, it is most likely a pirated copy. Here are some of the things that may happen when you purchase pirated software:

• it comes with malware that destroys your files
• it does not work at all
• it only works partially
• Adobe detects the piracy after a time and deactivates it

If you can't afford Photoshop, then look for Photoshop alternatives. Photoshop Elements has been suggested, and you can use a search engine to find others. Once you understand the concepts of photo editing, you may be ready to subscribe to a legal version of Photoshop.

A second thing to invest in is a subscription to LinkedIn Learning. This is where you will find excellent tutorials from Julieanne Kost and others. Watch them over and over until you know Photoshop like you know the back of your hand. Photoshop is not something you can learn on your own.

Thanks I wish to contact Adobe to ask if I can use a old copy, because as explained, I cant use other softwares I need Photoshop standalone. I  dont think  that Adobe in person  would not really help, to use an obsolete or old  copy of Photoshop cs6.

Is not good to sell piracy copies to sell them for profit, but if one have intention to buy second hand old and obsolete copy, Im sure can be done. Or at least ask them directly their  "dispense"/ condone, for use obsolete old versions, as I dont have any way to learn Photoshop than use old Versions. I have Photoshop Elements but unfortunately I cant follow tutorials if I use this version, as it miss many options and I can t go on with tutorials. I found an Official old Photoshop cs6 Version and I need to purchase it. (still need to save money since it costs 700$ and more). But at least (and one ca see the difference), I spend 700 and finished. 

With a subscrition, for a person that is not a professional and dont have a job, it would be not 700 $ but it would cost, in about 5 years, something like 3,000,00 €. 

So  can one see how is not for all people, solution . 

Im not an user professional that I can use subscrition.. 

Also another company "Topaz Studio" did exactly this. I directly ask them for using an old obsolete copy of one of their softwares and they understood my situation and that I was sincere and really could not afford a subscription and they see it was obsolete and they simply let me use it.

So the  best thing is to ask them directly. 

My intention it was to buy the full copy of Photoshop cs6 so, clearly, is not that one dont want to pay, but simply its impossibile to pay it, because cant be purchased. So I hope they will condone the usage. 

and to know also, if I can use second hand Photoshop cs6. 

So my question is, after I will spend so much money for Photoshop Cs6 (second hand), 

can I still activated, since the owner will sell their own licence? So simply pass to me is licence?

I think Adobe should make a new version for 1 time purchase only of Photoshop cs6 for users that are not professional, and yet is not convenient for home users a subscrition, (and its too much for a few use of a single home user) but yet, for who want to study it or use for hobby, should be possible to purchase a 1 time only full Photoshop cs6.

I hope I will soon be able to save money for a second hand version.

@Valentina ♡ if you find CS6 or older versions of Adobe software for sale - beware. They are most likely malware or other malicious/pirated copies that put your computer (and money) at risk. Do not buy older/used software. Adobe does not have a secondary market for used/older software.

Thanks! Ive already purchased Photoshop Elements and I like a lot, but it miss many options and I could not use it anymore for following the tutorials Im studing, because they use many options that only Photoshop cs6 have.

Yes the subscriotion for 12€ surely would be good enough but untill I dont have a job is not possible. (also, if every software want subscrion is not 12€/9$ per month but it s a lot of  money per month. I hope Adobe will understand this hard situation and they will sell Again Photoshop cs6. Is not that one dont want purchase. Is that its not possible to purché what impede me /us to purchase Photoshop. We want purchase, not subscrive. At least us that are home users and not professional. 

Now Ive also find a old Version of Adobe Crative Suit 3 but its not activable but I dont understand. If is second hand software, it should be activable?

Since I m not an user that need a subscriotions. I dont have a job and Im home used Housewife, I cant afford subscriotions. If i spend 700$, I dont need to pay more and for a not professional Housewife is the only solution especially because  I dont have job. For professionals is still good and easy subscribe.For me is not. In fact 12 € (9. 90 $ is 12 eur), for many many years would mean to spend much more than 700 $.  But the type of use and user Am I, I really hope Adobe will understand the differences and I dont think Adobe would impede to me to use an old copy or obsolete copy, since I think, can understand the difficulty is for certain users.

I m not the type of user that is reasonable to spend in subscription. For me home user and with no job I dont have any choice than use old copy or activated second hand licence.

So my question is, since Ive found Photoshop cs6 for 700$, is sure Adobe will activate me this copy? I dont think they would not help. For me is very important to study this software. Thanks for the information

Hi @Valentina ♡ with all due respect we are going in circles. You can't afford a subscription but can afford $700? Adobe WILL NOT ACTIVATE secondary/used purchases of CS6, 3, 4, or 5. Adobe will not go back to supporting or selling 2013 or older software. 

You seem pretty set on purchasing this mystery $700 software so I'll leave this conversation and let you decide. You have plenty of reponses warning you about this. My last piece of advice is forget about CS6 - not sure why you want to learn 10+ year old software.

I kept to ask, sorry, because I'm trying to find a way, I was also find finally a Photoshop cs6 in good condition, and now this news that not even this way can be used. I will ask to Adobe to dispence me. I can't afford a subscription for years of usage. Every months I try to collect money for my medial expenses and pay my car insurance, and problems, how I could afford 10 years of subscription?  Yes, as stated, spend 700$ at the end , for a single user, (not professional) is still high price for a software, but indeed one spend 1 time only and for who is not professional, and not have job like an housewife like me , is the best . To spend 700$ is of course much better because one pay just once (as said I'm not a professional so I don't have the need to update software or buy other versions, and that's good for home users). So spend 700$ is just for once and I can use a software for 10 years (just like it was before). 
But with a subscription, one spend in 10 years or 15 years a lot of money, like to purchase it for 3 times .  ..And for single user, can use Photoshop cs6 even 15 years or more. I dont know, but I wish to buy a software and have always , than subscription. I still don't understand why Adobe don't let people to buy photoshop cs6, and let the professional to have subscription (after all Adobe have always the incomes from professionals, why don't let also single users to purchase the software and keep it ). 

So if I purchase photoshop cs6 from second hand, with a licence, Adobe don't let me use it? Even if is original?
  I will try to contact Adobe but I need to ask to the main of Adobe .
Anyway, I don't understand, why Adobe don't leave the subscription just for who use photoshop and is professional.
I don't want to spend so much money as for a subscription, for a software that it could be purchased 1 time only and use even for 20 years. Why I have to pay a software for 3 or 4 times more , if I'm not a professional?
A professional have reasons to update it often, and it's convenient the subscription for them, that's sure, but is not good for a single user like my category... I wish Adobe could understand also this situation... why I have to spend more than 1,440.00 eur for a software? But  I have a question, the last: why Adobe don't let some people (not professional) to purchase Photoshop cs6 ? We wish to purchase it but it can't be purchased! That's the problem... and I don't understand why, because, professionals still love subscription for the usage they do and that they need to change software often. As said, since I'm not a professional, and it's more for hobby or study, why I have to pay a software like to buy it many times? I'm glad that exist subscription for the professional, as I said, is good for sure, but what about users like this hard situation, why to pay a software for the 3 times or more it's single price , for who is not professional? What is the answer to this question? Surely adobe get a lot of support, because many subscribe, so why can't be helped also those who wish to purchase one time only?

If I was in that situation, what I would not do is spend $700. There are many reasons:

• Because Photoshop CS6 is so old, $700 is too high a price; that is higher than some editions of Photoshop cost when they were new. A fair price for software that old should be much, much lower, especially when it might not work (if it can’t be activated). 
• Also because Photoshop CS6 is so old, it is not appropriate for someone like you trying to become a professional, because it is too far behind and too different from how Photoshop works now. Employers will want you to be efficient and proficient with current tools, not CS6 which is over a decade out of date. You will want to be trained on the latest features, but paying an outrageous $700 for CS6 will not help you reach that goal. 
• As stated by others, the Photography Plan is actually much cheaper if someone is truly on a low budget. 

So the Photography Plan subscription would be both much less expensive, and would be current so you would be able to have the best preparation for a career using up-to-date professional software, both of which are a much better match for your situation.

You've gotten the same answers from several posts from multiple Adobe Community Experts. The issue now is - you aren't listening.

I'm not going to devolve into a discussion about personal finances and situations. I'm sorry that you find yourself unable to afford Creative Cloud for $9.99 ($12 eu) a month. The fact that you keep trying to purchase 10 year old software does not match your request to learn "professional" software. $1,440 Eu is a 10 years worth of monthly subscriptions.

At this point your best option is Photoshop Elements. Your reasoning for not purchasing Elements (I read through ALL your previous posts) was that the CS6 tutorials didnt match Elements. The solution is to stop with the CS6 madness. I'm not sure where this obsession with CS6 as the end-all for Photoshop came from, but current Photoshop Elements is more advanced and up-to-date than CS6. Purchase Elements and follow the Elements tutorials.
