Hello Adobe Community,

Why are the Width and Height Ratio number boxes greyed out?

I used to be able to select a Fixed Ratio with the Marquee Selection tool.

Is that no longer possible?

Thank you for the help!

Here's the answer all you Mac users!

1. Close Photoshop > click on finder > click on GO menu in top on the right side of apple logo > go to folder > Then type ~/Library

2. Hit ok and open Preferences folder > Adobe Photoshop [2025] > Adobe Photoshop [2025] Settings

3. Then open Adobe Photoshop [2025] Settings and rename the file of adobe Photoshop 2025 prefs.psp file to adobe Photoshop 2025 prefsold.psp

4. Then reopen Photoshop from creative cloud and it will work great! Then you can rock on!

Is this a bug? I can no longer access the ratio drop down in Marquee. IS this intentional on Adobe's part?

Hi Edward,

Not sure if it's a bug, but this will work:

4. Then reopen Photoshop from creative cloud and shine on!

Click on the 'Style' dropdown just to the left of those ratios and choose 'Fixed Ratio'. The boxes will ungrey.

Hi Dave,

Thank you for looking at my question!

When I clicked on the "Style" menu only "Generate Image" and "Import Image" appeared (jpeg attached here).

By re-naming the "adobe Photoshop 2025 prefs.psp" file to "adobe Photoshop 2025 prefsold.psp" in Library, the issue was resolved (steps at the bottom of this thread).
