AFAIK, Photoshop stops working if your subscription expires. Subscriptions are for one year however, even if you pay per month.

That is to say you must pay for the year as promised if you have an annual-pay-monthly plan like the Photographer plan. Or pay a cancellation penalty.

There is a monthly plan at a higher rate that can be cancelled without penalty. Annual plans have a cancellation fee. Which plan did you get?

Also, if you saved you files to the Cloud, you need to resave them to your computer if you want to keep them after cancelling.

Go to this site, then choose the tab for Individuals (top) and the filter for Photo (left)

When you click the button marked with the arrow, the next screen defaults to yearly. To get the monthly plan that has no cancellation fee, click "Monthy" as marked:

All annual plans are a commitment for a year with a fee for early cancellation. If you need PS for one month, this is a better plan for you. But be sure to cancel, as it will continue at the same rate if you forget. I put lots of notifications in my phone for things like this.
