Correct answer Jeff Arola

What is the specific symbol?

Have you tried Window>Glyphs in photoshop?

I am in AI and I am trying to type the Heart symbol but the keystrokes are not responding.  The option key doesn't respond at all no matter what I am doing

Hi

There are multiple ways to insert a heart. If you want one of these, you can open the Character Viewer or use the shortcut of Cmd+Ctrl+Spacebar. 💙 If you want a different one, which one do you want?

Here's a pdf cheat sheet of sorts which shows the actual keys that correspond to Zapf Dingbat font characters on a Mac.

(the actual pdf is an attachment)

Hi

It's probably easiest to use the Glyphs panel, but if you want a Cheat Sheet, you can make it yourself quickly. Type out the characters, copy and paste them, and format the copy to be Zapf Dingbats. Put it into a table first to separate it out better than I did.

A "3" formatted to Zapf Dingbats is a checkmark, for instance.

Lumigraphics

How did you get either the Character Viewer or the Keyboard Viewer to show Zapf Dingbats?
