AI upscaling with Adobe Photoshop needs to happen.

AI can generate great stuff but it can't do something basic like upscale to 400% or more?

This should also be possible in Premiere and AE.

In the Image Size dialog in Photoshop, change the units to Percent, then change the Width and Height to 400%.

If you don't want Automatic, explore the other options.

AI is scattered all over Photoshop. It's so much more than GF.

There already is. Photoshop's Super Zoom is AI-powered. In Lightroom and ACR you have Super Resolution, also AI-powered.

However, if you expect 400% upscaling to look like it was actually shot at that resolution, you're going to be disappointed no matter how clever and well trained the AI is. Adobe's algorithms are as good as anyone else's, although some images might work better in one and others work better in another.

If you tell us why you need to do this massive upscaling, we might be more specific.

Because you can make it look like it came out of a macro lens.

Macro photography is immediately recognizable by the extremely shallow depth of field. If you can simulate that with lens blur filtering and masks, it will look like it was shot with a macro lens.

I have to say that if you're just going to crop in and upsample, it probably will not look good no matter what AI-algorithm is used. But depending on the technical quality of the original shot, you might be able to get away with it.

Remember that no upsampling can ever improve on the original. The goal is always to minimize the damage, and with AI the damage can be close to none. So it won't necessarily look very much worse, but it will never look any better either.

In other words, if the main consideration is the information content of the original, upsampling is always wasted, AI or not.

If they can have AI to do this with ease, there should be no problem.
