In PS for the iPad, is there a way to do a Shift/Ctrl/Alt/E command without a keyboard to create a new merged layer on top of the layer stack?

Hi Alan,

You can't even do it with a keyboard. Option/Alt + Merge layers does not work, nor does press and hold the circle while choosing Merge Visible.

The only workaround I can think of on the iPad for now is:

  • copy the layers
  • hide one copy of each layer
  • merge visible
  • show the hidden layers (optional)

This procedure has a name, btw. You are stamping the layers (not to be confused with the Stamp tool 😊).

I'll move your post from "Discussions" to "Ideas" and add my Upvote. If you have other thoughts for the developers on how you'd like this to work, add them to this thread.

Thank you, Jane, for the workaround. And, thank you for moving this to an "idea area" where it might get some attention from Adobe. Creating a stamped layer is something I do all the time in my editing in PS desktop. Add this functionality and sharpening in PS iPad and the app would be about complete for my needs.

You're welcome @Alan9940 . So far my vote is the only Upvote (top right). The developers watch this to see how important a feature is to folks and what to develop next. I'd like to see it too!
