Option to remove metadata when saving CMYK files

Please can Adobe look at a way for us to remove metadata when saving CMYK files - maybe a check box / uncheck box on 'Save' or 'Save As'? I know there is an option to do this in 'Export As' but I'd like to be able to do it directly from the main menu when editing files.

More and more frequently I am being sent assets from clients that contain huge amounts of raw data and it is creating huge problems when exporting to PDF once those files have been placed in Illustrator or InDesign. The PDFs are sometimes 300%-600% larger than they should be.

I understand there are workarounds, which I have been able to find and use in my workflow, but surely it would be far easier if we could do this from within the tools without resorting to 'workarounds'? It seems like I am fudging things just to make processes more efficient and reduce my file sizes for printers.
