Would be great to have an option that will lock opacity when resizing my brush with alt+right click drag, There is one for brush hardness, but never found one for opacity!
I spent half a day with support trying to find a way to officially flag this problem. All I get, apart from useless suggestions for workarounds, is a link to a "request form", which leads me to this forum, where this issue has been raised 5 years ago.
The only reason I haven't switched to another software is that I have been working professionally with Photoshop for over 15 years and I am dependent on this workflow for speed and efficiency.
Adobe, however are making this move to another program easier with each new version, as they keep adding pointless new features, which slow me down until I get used to them.
There goes my morning rant, falling on deaf years again.
Registered here just to bring awareness to this problem. I have ranted about it with every other illustrator I know. Please, can someone at Adobe work on this already?
We're just asking for a simple CHECKBOX for god's sake.
Disabling features should be very easy task. I have actually started to think if I could write a plugin for this 😄 I don't have slightest knowledge about PS plugins, but have done some coding in other contexts... Usually you get simple thing done if they are doable in general. It just takes a huge amount of time and googling.
So I'm starting a new book cover and I already know this will cause problems and I have to clean up my drawings afterwards...
Can we have FIX for this? Adobe? It is not hard. Just add option "Vary Opacity based on HUD vertical movemen" there. Should be very simple and easy to implement.
I have to agree with all the guys asking for that feature to be implemented.
This issue has been going on for years.
I need to resize my brush often so I use CTRL+ALT+RIGHT CLICK feature all the time, and very often, without realising my brush or erazer has gone to 99% opacity.
Yes I know there are other ways to adjust brush size but this one works best for me and many other who do a lot of painting in photohop.
It's such a small thing to add. After all there is a lock for brush hardness based on HUD vertical movement.
Instead of spending all that time and effort on useless features(for example I have never seen anyone use 3D in photoshop), they can concentrate on fixing what are very basic issues and not changing features which have been working well for years.
Could this be finally fixed ?! It should not be hard to disable a feature. It is very annoying to fix these faint marks left by eraser that had 99% opacity.
I made an account just to confirm that I also have the same problem. These accident changes in my brush opacity are driving me crazy. Checking "vary round brush hardness" in preferences doesn't help since this setting doesn't work with custom brushes (because they don'y have a hardness mode).
This is a very basic feature and an absolute must have for painters/illustrators/concept artists who are used to change brush size with drag and drop, but don't want their opacity to change constantly. I really hope that it will be added soon
