Pattern Fill Adjustment: Add Fill dialog options

Currently, a Pattern Fill adjustment layer allows quick, dynamic application of basic patterns to a layer. However, the Edit > Fill > Pattern... dialog gives access to scripted fills, which are much more flexible, but cannot be edited after fact - they must be replaced.

Please add the Fill > Pattern controls to the Pattern Fill adjustment layer, along with the following enhancements:

Enable all controls in the Properties panel

Allow switching the fill script

Enable a preview that correctly imposes the pattern's real scale over the image area

Add randomization to the Brick Fill script

Thanks!

Yes, i recall making this request about a decade ago and many times since then. There's a lot of potential in those scripts if the UI/UX and discoverability would be improved. My request was to also create a new tab in Layer Styles, in addition to a Fill Layer.
But just like Window>Library>Create from Image>Pattern, we all know that'll never happen =/

I try to recycle the old FRs as I run across projects that would benefit from them. I have dozens that go back way before CS days at least, including snapping to paths and angled guides. Maybe if we keep chanting, someone will eventually take up the call and do us a solid 😃

Chanting won't do it, but we are looking at upvotes and will try to prioritize the most commonly requested improvements.

I understand that, Stephen, but then it turns into a popularity contest and frankly I'm not sure I even see the results of that flowing into new features. We are often just surprised at what shows up with little or no prior chatter, which is an ironic variation on Ford's quip that if he'd asked people what they wanted, they'd have said faster horses. We all understand the need for wow factors, but you can also wow the old guard by addressing some of these older FRs. It is incredibly frustrating to hear "that's a good idea, now go get votes." Who voted on changing Transform behavior?

The point is: sometimes a good idea is good even if others don't know about it. I don't have time, Earth doesn't have time, most of us don't have time to go find an audience to perusade to hop over here and vote up a request or suggestion. Yet if we cruise over to YT and get the top three "influencers" to suggest making the UI hot pink with yellow text, the votes would accelerate towards NaN in hours. I'd like to think there's a trusted body of people where Adobe hears a rational and useful idea, and THEY go feel out the suggestion rather than this weird attempt at democracy in software development. That body of trusted advisors should carry significant weight in the FR realm, even if individual members aren't shellaced YT stars.

Take this venting with a grain of salt, but only one. I think you know that I rarely show my frustration, and it's born of a serious desire to see PS keep its top slot with responsive, considerate evaluation. And I do understand the caveats and constraints. Hell, I defend the PS team to a fault, and I will continue to do so. But I'd like to feel it's worth what little time I can give these days. Supporting PS is a labor of love, but I'm starting to feel like a stalker instead of a partner.
