Batch Process RAW images

Using V16.0.  New user!

I want to batch process a set of Camera Raw jpg files.  All the google hits apply to older versions from 2010, and don't say Camera Raw.

I want to open these files as Camera Raw, then edit, then save.  Only in Expert mode, I can File>Process Multiple Files.  But I select the files, and it does [whatever, I have no idea], then saves them.  There was no dialog box to adjust tint, temperature, clarity, etc.  Also, how do I know this method opens the Camera Raw and not whatever the default is if you just open (I don't understand the difference if it is a jpg file to begin with...is there a difference?  I was told to use the Camera Raw method in another thread in this forum).

In Editor, go to File>Open as. Point to the file that you wish to open and in the drop-down where it says "open as" select Camera raw. Ok it, and then do your initial enhancement.

When you are done with this, go to Open Image, and this will take you to conventional PSE work area.

I don't have open as.  I have file> new, open, open in camera raw, and open recently edited file.  This is the new V16.

Yes, I have it now.  Also, I had to 'select all' then one adjustment applied to the other open files.

    THANKS!
