Hi Marko,

When Elements freezes as it is starting up, is the status message on the start-up screen saying something like "Scanning for plug-ins..."?

If so, the delay might be linked to the fact you have a number of plug-ins that have failed to load. In which case, have a look at this post (and follow the link in the thread from @MichelBParis ) :

I agree with Phil that this is a plug-in problem.  To confirm the diagnosis, hold down the Shift key when you launch the Editor.  The following message will pop up and you should answer Yes.

To find out which ones are causing the problem, see the strategies discussed in this HelpX article.  The article relates to Photohsop, but it should also work for Elements.

Added:  I cross-posted this a minute too late to help the OP, but maybe this will help others with the same problem.  😉

You can download the latest version, Elements 2021.2 from this link.  Are you having problems updating from your current installation?  If so, make sure you uninstall the current program before you download and install the new version.

After following your direction "About Photosho Elements" yields the following version number:

19.0 (20210304.m.156367) x64

I dont think this is version 2021.2.  If it is, it behaves the same way as my old version - freezes on start up for at least 5 minutes and sometimes longer.

As clearly mentioned in the post announcing the PSE2019.2 update, you have the latest version.

If you have problems, that's not linked to the update.

Without any details about your personal setup, there is not much we can do to help you. Your screenshot does not help at all. What would be useful would be to copy and paste the first twenty lines or so of the dialog you get from the menu Help >> system info. That would be a good start.
