I have been using Elements 2022 on Windws 10 laptop without a problem but suddenly the Artistic Effects no longer works. Normally I would have an image open, click on the effect I wanted and hey presto it would open. Now, however, all I get is a brown image on top of my image. All other effects from the Enhance menu work fine. Wht do do?
Hi,
As of now please use the below workaround to use the feature in PSE 2023:
If Artistic Effect is not working or showing a greyed-out/brown preview, try the listed options.
Restart the application.
If the feature is still not working, close your application. Click on Device Manager > Display adapters and update all adapters using the “Update driver” option from the right click menu.
Restart your system and relaunch the application to see if the issue is resolved.
If the issue remains unres

I believe you used my thread in the original persons question. I've had countless adobe support personel try and help and I still have been given no resolution. I had an adobe representative take control of my computer to fix it and he said I needed to revert to basic display adapters, and it worked one time. Unfortunately I tried using it a few days later and it is back to the same issue. I was told to keep waiting for an update (for several months) and then was told to buy new software. I asked for a refund and was told I was out of my 30 day refund period. I've lost confidence in buying anymore PSE software

Something to try: Install PSE . Open it. Log out. close it.
Use a free utility like ccleaner to uninstall it.

@Yvonne244509332801 I do have the same problem with a win11 machine. I did call with an Adobe-specialist for PSE22 in India on Fr. 17th of June. We had a remote session so that he could have a look and try out several ideas for solutions (driver for graphics etc.). His ideas did not work. He did not know that failure / had never seen that before and he promised me to search for a solution or a collegue who can help. Unfortunately I did not get any further information yet. As I have some informations I will tell you...

Anyone hear of a solution for this yet? It has started with my Adobe, too! Thanks all.

Not yet. I was told on June 2nd that Adobe was aware of the problem. I would hope someone is looking into it. Having this Adobe Photoshop 2022 is nice, but was not free! I have heard nothing, and check it everyday.

Unfortunately no solution has been put forward by Adobe. This is a big disappointment to me and everyone who is affected by this problem. I assume that the silence from Adobe's end means that they are unwilling or unable to sort it out.

@Yvonne244509332801, @Steve24648027w6hq,
Adobe released an update last week Maybe that update fixes the problem. I never had the problem, so I can't verify if it's fixed.

Have you tried starting the program without plugin support? hold down your left shift key, then click on the icon you use to start the editor-- select YES when the little pop-up appears.

In another discussion about this problem, an Adobe employee ( @Priyanshi Handa ) requested users to provide a sample image to help track the problem. No user responded to the request.

A screenshot is not what they need. You need to attach a sample photo.
