Problem with Adjust Lighting -> Shadows/Highlights in PSE 14 in Expert mode

When working with PSE 14 in Expert mode I was able to adjust lighting by going: Enhance -> Adjust Lighting -> Shadows/Highlights, and then I would get sliders to adjust. All of a sudden when I do the same sequence it does not give me the sliders, but jumps to the color picker tool and does an automatic adjustment (of probably the 35%). The only way to get out of this at this point is an Alt F4.

Can someone in this community tell me how to get back to my original setting, which gave me the adjustment sliders?
