Could not complete your request because of a program error - Photoshop macOS Catalina

Hi

Today i updated Mac to Catalina, now i am trying to open the PSD files i was working on previously and none of them are opening.

This is what im getting.

"Could not complete your request because of a program error."

Before Catalina started to update it notified me that some programs may not work, but Photoshop wasn't one of them. And Illustrator is working normally.

How can i fix this to be able to access all my work again? And up until which point will big heads like Adobe and Apple understand that there are billions of people depending on them unfortunately for their jobs and their daily work routines, and that its not right to make us go through hell every few months because of all their updates? Stop forcing us to be tech heads, i am tired of suffering with every update of yours every 6 months, we just want to do our work in peace!

Any help would be appreciated regarding how to fix this issue. Thank you.

I just sat and watched the guy fix my issue from Adobe.  he got it working for me again.

1. Fresh Install from the Adobe Cloud.

2. Goto Library.

3. Goto Preferences

4. Goto Adobe Photoshop 2020 Settings

5. Rename the folder to a .old at the back of the name

6. Exit out of the Finder Box and goto Applications

7.  Find your App of Photoshop.

8. Rename the Photoshop app to the app.old

9. Right Click on it and goto Get Info

10. Down in the bottom left hand side  under Sharing and Permissions Make sure whatever or whoever yo want to have full permissions has the selected next to it Read and Write.

11 click on the cog underneath it and tell it to apply.  (You may have to enter your credentials to access that area)

12. run the adobe photoshop again and that should make it so you can access the preferences file again which I could not at first.

13.  When in Photoshop (finally) goto your preferences and goto performance.

14.  First tell Photoshop to use at least 80% of memory usage

15. Unclick Use Graphics Processor

Done..

Real easy steps....

There is not a chance with old versions of Adobe apps. You MUST at least get to the latest apps. Photoshop CC2019 has its problems, but it can run. You should get all new apps and plug-ins, Catalina requires it, a deliberate clear out of everything old
