"Must be a hardware in-compatability that Photoshop isnt even going to try to work with for whatever reason."

it's not ,mine is over qulaified than what adobe required to run the software , please if you don't know the answer simply don't reply , to let the experts find out the reasons

No, your talking about hardware sufficencey. Im talking about hardware compatability. Have you checked that your graphics card is supported by the program? And any other hardware.

Another cause can be missing files. But you shouldn't get that with the trial download. the error is coming directly from Photoshop, not the computer, which i would presume means photoshop has been told what to do in that situation exactly. When do you get the error anyway? does it seem to install then tell you about it, or does it come up straight away, or somewhere in between?

Also, language / version incompatability could be a cuase. "AdobeTypeSupport9-mul.boot.xml" < that just sounds like it could be talking about an issue like that considering it is everywhere in that text, just different names.

Ok I have the same problem,

I have intalled a trial version before and worked pefect on my windows 7 and unfortunately i had to reintall the windows 7 again,

so after reintalling the windows today i was trying to install the PS CS4 trial again. and i get this error.

Also i was able to intall dreamviewer cs4 without a problem. only photoshop gives me this error.

As you know you can only install PS CS4 trial once on a computer. Sometimes when you

re-install the OS, depending on how you reinstall, a file called windows old will be made. This stores

everything on your hard drive. When you go to re-install PS CS4 Trial the software DRM will read this file and determine the software has already been installed. Delete the Windows.old file should stop this and you will be able to install the trial.

When re-installing an OS wipe the drive by formatting first.

I am always amazed that people don't want to do this. It is de rigueur where I come from.

Depending on which bit version is installed, the files are located in different paths. Check http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_cpsid_49540_en-us

    for this error.

You probably missed the "dependencies" files in the following folders:Deployment.Extensions and Payloads. Please check carefully.

Have you installed the Vista SP2 update? I believe it's required by Photoshop CS4.

well you can look for anything in program files about it and delete it. also check in control panels add/remove programs just to make sure it didnt install. basically, remove all traces of it ever existing ans strart again with a LEGAL COPY!!!!!

Umm, from line 11 of your log file:

Adobe Photoshop CS4 (Middle Eastern Version) (Patch & keygen)

You really don't expect anyone around here helping you with pirated software, or do you?

actually I baught it from one friend , and I don't know if it's legal or not, but the same messege even if i install the trial version from adobe webstie

    June 8, 2009

Keygen = Not legal. End of story

    June 8, 2009

Without reading all the log file, one question to be asked is:

Does your laptop meet the system requirements for CS4?

You don't tell us anything about it!

It appears to be a Middle Eastern version; did you get it from a legitimate source?

It is possible that it isn't a legit copy, i had the same error after purchasing same from e-bay never a good idea to cut corners to save money on software!
