Parsing error, error reading file in Camera Raw/Photoshop

Hi, 

I'm a photographer and depend on my photoshop/camera raw/macbook air working dependably, so I'm freaking out right now. Camera rawhas been operating extremely slow and, aside from the speed and issues opening and closing, it keeps sending me "error parsing this file" or "error reading this file" messages in the middle of editing. The photos then can't be saved and everything is lost. I've attached to screenshots of the problem below.

I'm also having issues with my satechi USB and SD card adaptor and get messages saying "the disk is not readable..." any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
