Hello Everyone.

I had this problem for while, and I can not figure out the Issue. I am using the standard Paper Size 8.5 By 11 Inches, and Let say that I have a Picture frame Exactly 5 By 7 Inches, and I want my print size to be Exactly  5 By 7 Inches. Inside Photoshop I create a Document by going to File- New 5 Inch By 7 Inch 300 Resolution. But when I print I always notice that The Image Size that Is Printed is always like Two Inch smaller.

Thanks.

Photoshop files store a Image Size that other programs will print, but you can have a custom Print Size that the Photoshop Print Wizard will read.

    Image Size:

Photoshop Custom Print size that is separate from the Image Size and will not alter it.

There you will see the custom print and position at the bottom. You can checkmark "scale to fit media" or enter your own custom size and position. See if the "scaled print size" is set to other than 5 x 7

I Think I found out the issue I been having.

    I Checked this Video:

How to See Actual Print Size in Photoshop: CIIT Tutorial - YouTube

The Instructor, Explains how to Calculate the Display PPI ( Pixel Per Inch) Calculator.

    Display Dimensions Calculator

Basically, You go to Photoshop- Preferences-Units & Rulers, and Inside the Screen Resolution, you need to Copy Paste the Correct Resolution By using this Screen Calculator.

I have a 27 Inches Monitor, With Resolution of 2560 By 1440. I added this Resolution Into the Calculator,

Therefore, I came up with PPI 108.79. I add that number Inside the Preferences- Unit & Rulers- Screen Resolution, and my print Size came up fine.

I thought you were saying that your expected 5 x7 print size on paper was not the 5 x 7 as specified in Image Size.

What you are doing is proofing on screen. View > Print Size would then use the screen resolution figure to set the zoom level so that your image size on screen matches the physical size of your print.

I'm glad you found out what you wanted.
