Program error when trying to open a PSD file in photoshop.

I just download the new version of photoshop CC 2017 yesterday. I made several psd files and today when I try to open the files I get this message "Could not complete your request because of a program error." I sent the PSD files to my mothers computer using Dropbox and she was about to open it without a problem. I decided to see if it was all PSD file that I can't open and it appears to be only the ones I made with the NEW VERSION of Photoshop CC 2017. I have uninstalled in multiple times, turned off my computer, restarted my computer, checked to see if by chance I still had the old version loaded, checked if I somehow saved the PSD files wrong and I didn't, not lying when I say NOTHING is working. Does anybody have any idea what is going on because I have tried to call tech support but they keep on sending me to this to make a form.

Adobe change the way its installer work.   When you install ne version of  an Adobe Application. The Install will removeyou old working version of the application.  There is an advance installer option that you can set to have the installer leave your working versions installed.  You can also use the Creative Cloud Desktop application install prior versions of Adobe applications.  I do that and set windows default to Photoshop to CC 2014.

I can save PSD files with CC 2017.1.1 and Open them in CC 2017.1.1 and prior version.  Some prior versions may have problems with newer layer options.  I always save PSD file with Max compatibly option.  What types of layers are in those PSD you can not open with CC 2017? Upload on and post a link so others can try their CC 2017  versions.

The creative cloud desktop application can be used to install prior version of Photoshop.

It wasn't anything crazy just layers to make an icon. Do you by chance know how I can go about being able to open this file on my computer? I already know that it can be opened on other computers other than mine, and I want to be able to go back and work on it It is frustrating that because of this new version I cannot save any of my work in PSD format and I just want to be able to do so.

Did you do what I wrote install CC 2014 for example  and try that version of Photoshop?

I don't know how to go about reinstalling the old Photoshop CC. I have a Mac I don't know if that makes a difference or not
