Graphics rendering supported or not??

During exporting my project my PC crashes. Complete shutdown, display failure, you name it. Tried several things, like complete clean re-install, disabling half of my cores, hardware acceleration disabled, nothing works. But on the Adobe site I see that my graphics card should be supported. In the system it is recognized but it says that it is not supported (see below). Could this be the problem?

Drivers are automatically updated by the NVIDIA software, so should be the latest drivers. Anybody with a solution?

Go into the root of Elements

C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Premiere Elements\20.0\Online\Hw Acc Render\All_Lang\HW\Files\allowlisted_cards.txt

add the card to the text file exactly as shown below.

NVIDIA#NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060#

20.0 version stands for 2022. might need to adjust that to version used.

Hi Ann,

Copied and pasted your NVIDIA#NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060# line into the allowlisted_cards.tx file, but still the program tells me it is detected, but not supported. When I opened the txt file, there was already a line with NVIDIA#GeForce GTX 1060 6GB# which is exactly my card. In your line there is two times 'NVIDIA' in it, so I tried it again with one time, but that didn't matter. Do you have another advice?

Best wished, Patrick

Another approach might be to turn off the use of the GPU.  In my experience with my relatively simple and short projects, the speed improvements are not significant.  Edit > Preferences > General

Hi Bill,

Thanks for taking time. I trried that already. Rendering works fine, but exporting to MPG or MP4 makes my PC crash. Tried a lot of things, but nothing seems to work.

Best wishes, Patrick

Might want to adjust that: too old.

Thanks John. I installed the latest Studio drivers, but problem stays the same.
