Moving unfinished PE 2022 project to another computer.

Question

I had to move unfinished PE 2022 project to another computer: I moved all files with the corresponding prel file. But when I click on prel file I do not retrieve any files. The PE freezes and I have to close it.

I can start the project from scratch based on the files I loaded and create a new prel file, but I did a lot of editing in my unfinised project and woud like to continue working on it and not starting the project from the very beginning.

Is is possible to open unfinished project on a new computer and continue working on it?

The old computer is gone but I had a copy of all files including prel on a new computer from an external backup drive. I put all of them in one subdirectory on a new computer. It turned out that subdirectory had a different path than original path on my old computer. Luckily I found a note with an original path for the prel file. When I created subdirectory that matches orignal path on old computer and moved all files there I was able to open my project and continue editing.

Is  2022 installed on both computers?Are you opening it with 2022?Are both computers using the same operating system? The project file might be corrupted.  Try making a copy of a backup or autosave and see if that opens.
