I really need some help!

I am making a short video on premiere elements 10 and I seem to get this conforming error everytime I open the project and I cannot save it either!!

"Unspecified error occured while performing a conform action on the following file:

File0002.AVI 48000.CFA"

This happens everytime I open premiere elements 10  to lots (or all) of my video clips and I can't find any help in the adobe forums or anywhere else online!

Also, I want to save this video as an AVI file, but when I try to export it, it says it has finished quite quickly and has not even added anything to click on or when it does, it does not play. Sometimes it says it has finished then comes up with: "Error compiling movie. Unknown error". one of these happen everytime that I try to save it.

Lots (or all) of my avi files come up as this same conforming error when I load the project and I have no clue as to what to do!...

It also crashes nearly everytime after these compiling errors!

My computer is running windows 7 ultimate OS

Please help!

Please...!

Can you recreate the conformed files and see if that helps? To do this clear the media cache. Go to "%appdata%\Adobe\Common\" (Type this with the quotes in the Run Bar) Clear the folders there. Restart PrE10 and see if the confirming happens correctly this time.

If this does not solve the problem, I suggest you re-encode the audio alone. To do this use vlc player. Launch the player, Go to Media->Convert/Save, Click on Add and add this file. Now click on convert. This will throw up another window, here click on the icon that is highlighted in the screenshot

In the next screen, go to Audio codec tab and select another format, say mp3 and then re-encode the file. Do not change anything else.

Import the filegenerated from vlc into PRE. This shoul work now. Try and let us know.

I tried clearing the media cache and the common folder. I ran PrE10 but it did not solve the problem.

The files are avi files and if I change it, will it keep the video or change it?

Also, is there any way by which I can import the files and they change the ones already on the timeline, without having to re insert them and change the timings and everything again?

I emptied \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files. And then I was able to conform project files. .mpeg files. Sony 1080i. Windows 7 Professional Ed.

Also, does anyone know where I can download the content for premiere elements 10 because it says that a reduced set has been installed, would you like to download the full content now?

When I click on it, it takes me to a page with nothing on to download or click!

I do no have the installation dvd with me at the moment to instll it from either!

Welcome to the forum.

First, I would look over this ARTICLE on PrE crashes, and prevention.

Next, this ARTICLE gives some background on the Conforming process.

Then, this ARTICLE gives some pointers on Compiling Movie errors.

I would also post the full system specs., and especially your I/O, i.e. HDD's (I suspect there might be a problem here), and also the specs. of your Source Footage. This ARTICLE will give you tips on what info is very useful.

Good luck,

Hunt
