Premiere Elements 2018 Audio Issue

I have had clips from several different cards, several different cameras, and several different formats, where not all of the audio imports into my project. However,

they import fine in Elements 14. I can't track down a common denominator with this issue.

Is there an update to Elements 2018 that fixes this?

So as of now, the only way I'm able to get my clips into PE 2018 is to

totally separate (copy) them from the Stream folder to my hard drive.

This is the only way I'm able to get my Dolby audio to import.

I can't get the audio to come in except for 26 minutes spanning

the clips.

I have no problems anymore - as far as I can see...Or is there something I don’t understand in this? Using PE2018 and Win10, editing on c: (whenever I have enough space, making daily backup to external hard disk) and tested drag n drop an 32 min interview (1,7 gb) with Dolby audio to the timeline without any audio loss like before. Choosed the default, simple export alternative and there is no problem with the final result. And I have also tested the exported file on a computer with older OS. No problem either.

This is a long topic.  There are posts from several people and it seems there are multiple questions.  

The short version is the Premiere Elements 2018 and Windows 10 will function normally with AVCHD - MTS clips.  Editing is "normal" and output is high quality.   Unlike previous versions, it will not burn Blu-Ray disks.

Ours is still not working properly on several machines running Windows 10 Pro.

I can't span clips without losing audio at 26 minutes in unless I remove the

clips from the stream folder first and moving the clips only to the hard drive.

Since previous versions, we've done it the same way. Copying the BDMV folder

to the hard drive and then spanning the clips from there.

It's still the Dolby audio issue for us. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Again, it only works when I separate the clips from the folders and then

import all of the clips.

Please help  so I can move on.

How long is your clip. It's a problem with anything over 30 min.

I also have the problem not having audio in Adobe Premiere Elements 2018 from mts-files from my JVC-camera on my Win7 PC. I checked the mts-files and they don't have AC3 (Dolby) format, but stereo (2 channels) format. Still no audio. When importing same files in Magix Video DeLuxe 2015 program, other format files like MP4 are oke. I have not such problems in in Windows Media Player or other videoprograms. Previously (till a few moths ago) I worked with Premiere Pro CC and also Premiere Pro CS6 and everything worked just fine. But because these products as CC subscription became too expensive for me I bought Premiere Elements 2018.

I visited fora, knowledge bases but I cannot find any solution.

This product seems not to work properly. My guess is that this is not a windows or codec issue on my PC, but a very serious bug in Premiere Elements 2018 that Adobe should fix A.S.A.P.

If anyone knows the solution, I'd be happy to hear.

Please share a clip via DropBox or similar.  I want to try it on a Windows 10 computer with PrE 2018 installed.

That is not how this forum works.

IF YOU OPEN THE MTS FILE IN QUICKTIME

Then export from there to audio only.

Place that file, a m4a file on a Mac, into your audio timeline.

Then, turn off your original audio from the mts file and your all set.

Remember when you are editing a clip you have to snip both mts and m4a on your timeline.

Adobe should fix this .. but this is my suggestion and it works

I edit a 1.5 hr video every week for cable tv and after a while, it becomes what you have to do !
