Audio Sync is not working - match couldn't be found

Audio Sync has been failing repeatedly in Premiere Pro lately with the absurd "can't find a match" error message).  I've tried deleting Media Cache, that doesn't work.  I tried making every file .WAV in media encoder that doesn't work (even though it worked perfectly fine with MP3s before).  The big proof is that it failed when one track has the vocals only and the other had music with the exact same vocals mixed in.  I've synched scores of tracks just like this with a lot worse quality and it worked.  Please fix this, it's a crucial feature for me.

Hi @scm28,

Sorry you're experiencing issues. We need a few more details to help with the issue like the Premiere version you are on and hardware information. Please see How to Report a Problem.

Just want to confirm, are you trying to sync your files with the audio track channel option and does changing the track channel option also fail to sync the clips? Do any of these audio clips have video linked to them and do you know what channel format they are in (mono, stereo)?

A couple of other quest

Hi @scm28,

Just want to confirm, are you trying to sync your files with the audio track channel option and does changing the track channel option also fail to sync the clips? Do any of these audio clips have video linked to them and do you know what channel format they are in (mono, stereo)?

A couple of other questions: has this issue been project or media specific, or throughout all projects and media? Have you tried to re-sync files that previously synced this way, and are they still working?

Hope we can help you soon and sorry for the frustration,
Dani

Is there a reason you're using sync on the sequence rather than the multicam process, which is designed for combining video and separate recorded sound? Just curious.

Thanks for responding.  Mac latest OS Sequoia 15.6 which I just added a couple days ago, M1 chip.  I'm using the latest version of PP, I make sure that the clips don't have video linkeed to them by unlinking them and double checking.  I've used both mono and stereo and it's worked in the past.  Also note: I had this happen before and uninstalled PP and reinstalled it which worked.  However, this time, tried that again and synching still doesn't work. I will also note that the previous projects showed up when I restarted PP, whereas that function was wiped clean the last time I uninstalled and reinstalled.  This is reallly frusrtating.  Thanks in advance for any help.
