Cannot mark an in point

Community Beginner ,

I have had a clip that is problematic for a number of reasons. Imports with no sound despite there being sound so imported sound separately as a WAV. Merged them in the project window and now I can't set an in point. Can set an out point no problem. Am loading directly from the project window. Merged by setting an in point at the beginning of each clip.

Using 24.6.5 (cannot update as I am on a campus and it is managed by IT). Not getting this problem with any other clips. Have had this before. I am playing it from the project window. Have tried clearing cache and reloading it. Something I'm doing wrong or yet another glitch to add to my list?

Hi @Sophie21899903vc7c

Thanks for submitting your bug report.  Did Bob's suggestion make a difference?  If not, would you be able to share the problem clip for us to test with?  Is this the only merged clip?  We need a few more details to try to help with the issue. Please see: How do I write a bug report?  Sorry for the frustration and thanks for reaching out.

I'm guessing it's not adding an In Point no matter how you do it? (button, keyboard shortcut, etc.)?

Correct, I've tried both the button and the keyboard. If I press the "move cursor to in point" it just goes to the start of the clip but I don't get the cursor that indicates it's on an in point.

Try exporting the clip to ProRes and reimport into Premiere Pro.
