Issue Exporting Long Videos in Premiere Pro 25.2.3

New Here ,
May 10, 2025 May 10, 2025

Hello,

I am currently using Adobe Premiere Pro version 25.2.3.
For the past two to three weeks, I have been encountering a recurring issue when exporting videos longer than 15 to 20 minutes.

Each time I attempt to export longer videos — whether through Premiere Pro directly or via Media Encoder — the application closes unexpectedly without any error message, and the export process fails.
Shorter videos (under 20 minutes) still export successfully.

I would like to point out that:

  • Everything was working perfectly before with the same export settings.

  • I primarily produce podcast episodes that typically last between 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

  • I had no export issues prior to the past few weeks.

I have not changed my workflow, export presets, or system setup. This issue appeared suddenly and has been consistent since then.

Could you please assist me in resolving this problem?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Olivier

@olivier vullierme I'm sorry to hear that you having this problem! Failed exports can be very frustrating.

Would you please provide some more information to us, following the suggestions in this post? https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/how-do-i-write-a-bug-report/idi-p/13361863

Also, try launching Premiere Pro with the shift key held down. Check all four options in the Reset Options dialog, then try doing your export again. Does it help?

What are the hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

Hello Peru Bob

I'm working on an Apple M3 Max with 36 GB of RAM.

All the files are stocked on a 2T Sandisk hard drive.

Let me know if you need more informations.

Best regards

The key data asked for, and not provided, was ... what capacity, and how full is the drive?

As Premiere needs 4-5 times the eventual full size of the file as "free space" while creating the export. If you do not have that much free space on the drive, it will either be slow or fail completely.

Hello,

I have 731,1 GB out of 994,66 available on the hard drive of the computer.

On the external drive, I have more than 681 GB available. I precise because
all the datas I work with are on the external hard drive.

Best regards
