Media Encoder doesn't retain the name of the sequence from Premiere

Hello,

Do you mean if it makes a difference in workflow or a technical difference?

If you meant technically, yes, as i've written above it works as expected.

If you meant workflow wise yes, it makes a difference if you have 3+ files to export as it saves you time. Pressing a single shortcut vs waiting for a window to open and pressing Send to encoder button.

I Still have this issue every now and then. Seems to have something to do with a duplicated scene and properites that are set in the backgrouns when exporting.
When I use the export function from Premiere Pro itself (export > media or sue the export button at the right top) and close that window (without exporting), that seems to "re-set" the name/sequence name propery for the export.
When I then export via/to media encoder (shift+alt+M) everything is fixed.

It might be that the projekt I'm having issues with is a few months old and was created with an older verson of Premiere?

If I make a new project it seems to work.

That old project was created in an older version, exported and then when the job continued I had a newer version. That might be the issue here.

Unfortunatley I can't remake that file because it's been a huge job.

I'll try to find another workaround.

Thanks.

I vaguely remember we fixed a couple of things in that area. I was not able to reproduce with duplicated and renamed sequences so far. Can you try this in Beta?

IT works exporting via Premiere Pro.

The wrong name only shows up when "sending to Encoder"

@eckiAMETeam

The problem, if I recall, manifests itself when there is some combination of duplicating a sequence that may have already been sent to Media encoder. The exact order of operations was unclear, but in some cases media encoder would end up renaming the sequence to the first sequence.

Just tried it in Adobe Premiere Pro 25.1.0.73 and Adobe Media Encoder 25.1.0.65. Created a simple project. Added Bars & Tones. Exported via Export Panel. Name was preserved.

Just to sort things out: Does the Export Panel show a different name than what AME shows in the queue?

The issue still exists.

The Workaround is unfortunateley not an option since the feature to send it to AME is an way to save time.

I have a projekt with 20 Sequences that I want to export at the same time.
I mark them all and use the shortcut or the menu to send it to AME and some of the files have an old name.

Sending one file first so that file takes the wrong name and then sending 19 usually works. Still, thats a bug.

AME 25.1

Premiere Pro 25.1.0.

Can you provide your specs (OS, CPU, GPU, memory)? Are PPro and AME on the same version?
