Apr 03, 2025 Apr 03, 2025

I updated Premiere at 25.2 version and I've noticed a that in the source monitor are not showed the in and out points over the audio clip. Is it a bug or can i activate them somehow? I attach an image for greater clarity.

Thanks,

Vito.

Hi @AndrewTheGreat - This issue has been fixed in beta version 25.4.0 build 8 or later and will be included in the next release of Premiere Pro version 25.4.0. I will merge your post with the primary thread.

The lighter area that indicates Audio In/Out in Source Monitor does not update when setting In/Out points with keyboard Mark In and Mark Out

Steps to encounter:

  1. Load audio into source from Project panel or by match-frame from timeline
  2. If In/Out was set, blue I/O indicators on time ticker and in green shaded area will be as last selected or no area will be selected if no I/O has been set on this clip yet.
  3. Set new In/Out points using keyboard Mark In and Mark Out.

What should have happened:

Like in versions past, the light green area in the waveform that indicates In to Out should update. This is a very key indicator since it’s so large.

What actually happened:

When marking new In / Out with Mark in / Mark out keyboard buttons, the blue time ticker will update, but the lighter green area in the waveform that indicates the time selected by marking I/O will not change, it stays at the old I/O points.

Note:

If the blue time ticker In/Outs are DRAGGED or the edge of the green shaded area in the waveform view is DRAGGED, the shaded area will update as expected. This seems to be an issue with Mark In and Mark out.

Hi @tykvabob - You’re right the fix didn’t make it into 25.3.0 as expected, but it will be included in 25.4.0

I'm sure marked in out sections used to show visually on the audio waveform in the source window. Not getting this now. Premiere 25.2.3

Just slow down your release cycle so we don't have to face so many bugs so often

Setting in and out points in the source monitor for audio using either the I and O keys, or the { } buttons int he source panel, does not update the waveform view to show the darker area outside the in/out points.

Manually dragging and moving the centre of the work area bar does update the display to the higher-contrast in/out view.

To repro:

  • Load an audio file into the course monitor (tested using .WAV files)
  • Set in and out points either via keyboard or onscreen buttons
  • The colour of the displayed waveform does not update as expected. Previously would expect to have seen a difference appear in birghtness and contrast between the areas in and outside of the newly created work area
  • Drag the work area bar manually by grabbing from the centre - the display will now update to show the higher-contrast in/out areas.

Screen capture attached for reference - the in point is set via keyboard, the out point is set via onscreen button.

Additional note - once the in/ out points have been set, dragging a handle from either end of the work area bar also updates the display, the same as grabbing the middle of the work area bar and moving it.

@Ann Bens Thanks. My post appears to have been merged with this thread - if I'd found it before posting then I would have read it and not posted.

Why can't Adobe just slow down the release cycle so that things are working BEFORE they go out, and users aren't constantly functioning as beta testers?
