Play delay

Prior to some recent updates I was not having this issue. When I am editing I frequently hit the spacebar or  L key to play after making a cut. For some reason this intermittently doesn't work anymore. Sometimes I have to go as far as clicking on the sequence just to wake the adobe trash up in order to get play to work. Why does adobe keep breaking this software? Are you begging me to go to Davinci Resolve? Please fix your trash.

I'm having the same exact issue. This is insane. How can we expect to work inhibited by this? Play is obviously an essential feature to editing. Wake up adobe WE ARE PAYING YOU

if your sequence window is not selected, it will not react to rhe spacebar. maybe something is happening in between that is selecting a different panel than the timeline panel?

No, I'm very aware of an active panel, I've been using premiere for like 20 years lol. I have a very fast, sensative workflow using my keyboard. I'm in the sequence editing and as I'm making cuts trimming I often hit the spacebar to play forward or the L key. I'm so into the keyboard that it's literally the only thing that held me back in my most recent attempt at going to Davinci Resolve. If DR's adobe keyboard shortcuts actually setup the keyboard properly I might have kept going with the transition away from adobe. Now, ironically, the keyboard is stumbling to keep up. It's excrutiating. I'm totally in the panel, I never got out of it, it's highlighted in blue. It doesn't happen 100 percent, only about 45 percent or more of the time. Just enough to really make me hate editing. I'm not suppose to hate editing.

It's more like 90 percent of the time at least really. I trim and then hit the spacebar and it does nothing unless I hit it again and sometimes it works the second or third time. I've restarted and all kinds of things.

imagine playing from a cut, then getting to where you want to trim and hitting "Q" and then hitting the spacebar to keep going. YOU CAN'T KEEP GOING BECAUSE IT FUXS UP AND DOES NOTHING.

so, I hit Q to trim, hit spacebar nothing happens, I wait still nothing happens, hit it again nothing happens, then hit it a third time and it finally plays. This double hesitation is extremely frustrating and almost unbearable.

90 percent of my work is using these keystrokes. I need to do this for a handful of hours a day. So, this is just forcing me to really consider DaVinci. But I have so much work to do I just don't know if I can handle switching esp. since I've already got so much started in Adobe trash.

I AM STILL HAVING THIS HELL OF A PROBLEM. When I am editing I need the play button to work the first time NOT THE THIRD.
I need to be able to edit. I am literally paying for software that is literally preventing me from making money and debiliting my workflow with bugs not found in FREE software like Davinci Resolve. Why is adobe forcing me to move???
