Premier Pro 25.5 New Bug

After updating to Adobe Premiere Pro 25.5, I encountered an issue with the film impact transitions. When I apply them to my videos, I sometimes get an error message that seems to be limited to the event section, while the video itself appears fine. The main problem is that the screen automatically goes black after the error appears. Restarting Premiere Pro only provides a temporary fix, as the same error and black screen issue reappear after a few hours. I have to completely shut down the software to resolve this problem, but the issue keeps recurring.

Hi @TamilTech30056984oxx5 -  Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.
Please see, How to Report a Problem.

Can you post a screenshot of the error message you are receiving?

Can you let us know your system specs from the link above?

Do you have any other third party plugins or panels installed?

Sorry for the frustration.

I have been experiencing the same issue when I have the Film Impact transitions on my timeline. I get an Event “Film Impact Settings” and my second monitor will go black and seemingly power cycle for a full second. Other forums have said to switch render playback to Software only, but that does not show up as an option for my. only GPU (CADU) or (OpenCL)

@TamilTech30056984oxx5,

I played with a few of these and don't get any issues. Win11 PR 25.5.0. Can you narrow it to any particular one? Does it occur upon application of the effect to a transition edit, or only upon playback?

Do you see this if starting a brand new test project?

How often is "sometimes"? lol. Always hard to pin down problems that are less than 100%!
