Premiere ignores video and audio source patches with multiple clips

Hello,

When I select multiple clips and insert or overwrite them into a timeline, Premiere ignores any patch selection and always adds the video and audio to the V1 and A1 tracks, even if I have audio turned off. If I drag the clips, it will obey which track I drag the clips into, but will ignore disabling audio patching and bring the audio with the clips.

I am currently using Premiere 24 on Mac OS 14.6.1, but have encountered this issue for many, many versions (at least going back to 18).

@HarrySlim,

I realize I rarely do this; when I'm doing multiples, I generally am bringing them to A1/V1. So I gave it a go.

Win 10, tested only in Beta 25.3.0.3.

If I select one clip, insert/overwrite results in only the portion indicated in the source patching (only video or audio or both) and the track selected. As expected.

If I select multiple clips in the project panel, it always adds both tracks and only on A1/V1 no matter the source patching.

Stan

@HarrySlim I attempted to see how the source patching for inserts and overwrites options is currently working in the beta and 25.1. If you have both Video and Audio source patching deselected then your clip added into the sequence does add both video and audio. But if you only have the Video selected for source patching by using the toggle switch on the far left of the sequence, the video clips you add should only be bringing in the video and ignoring the audio connected to that clip. Screen shot added for reference. Is this relevant to the problem you have been experiencing ?
Thank you

Ian

Hi @HarrySlim and welcome to the Premiere Pro Forum community.  Thank you for taking your time to file a bug report. We would like to help figure this out with you. The team just needs a little more information to begin troubleshooting. If you could just jump to the link here  How do I write a bug report and follow the steps to providing more information about your bug, we will gladly take a look. Also have you tried the beta version or updating to 25.1? I am already looking at this in 25.1 with the info you provided to see if I can get a good example test and repo going of your current issue.

Thank you

Ian
