Rating Metadata not consistent between Mac and Windows

Contributor ,

I spent some time updating the metadata for a large number of clips using Premiere on Mac. When I opened the same project on Windows the Scene and Descriptions were all correct but the rating did not show. The project was stored on a Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD so it could be easily transferred between the Windows and Mac laptops.

Once the rating is updated on the Windows version it shows up fine on the Mac version.

Windows 11 Pro. 10.0.22631 with Premiere Pro 24.1.0

MacOS Sonoma 14.1.1 With Premiere Pro 24.0.3

Hi Peter,

The Rating field is part of basic XMP metadata, saved with the metadata of the project item's media; Scene and Description are both part of PPro's private Project metadata, saved in the project.

think that, if you "Enable clip and XMP metadata linking" (in PPro --> Preferences --> Media), your Rating settings will be successfully embedded into the project metadata.

Thanks for this. I will try it out. (Sorry for the late reply I didn't seem to get a notification.)
