Rolling Edit Tool not showing changes made during playback

I recently/was finally forced to update from v24.1 to v25.1 due to others I work with having done so. One of the many frustrations adapting to the big changes driving everone nuts (feeling's mutual) is this issue for me with the Rolling Edit Tool. I'm assuming it is a bug, but maybe there is a setting that did not get accurately transfered during the migration of settings from v24.1 to v25.1 that I just can't seem to find.

The issue:

When adjusting a cut on a multi-camera sequence during playback the change is not recognized in the Program Monitor until you stop and start playback.

Attached is a video showing what I'm talking about.

Hopefully I've explained clearly. Thanks in advance!

Got it. The team reached out and let me know that they can reproduce the bug you showed. They report that they are working on the bug. I hope the info helps. I apologize for the frustration.

Thanks,
Kevin

@Kevin-Monahan  I'm currently working on a big project so I would rather not risk installing a beta version at the moment. I will ask a couple friends if they have the beta and it still happens.

Or if somebody happens to see this and can give it a try it would be much appreciated!

@Kevin-MonahanAnd yes it has always worked this way in previous versions.

OK, thanks for clarification. How is it working with a test project in the Beta version? Let me know, while we await a response from the developers.

Cheers,
Kevin

My video I attached to my original post finally got through the virus scan. So you can check it out there.

Thanks for responding!

Here's the video since it seems to be in virus scanning purgatory in the initial post:

Hi,

Thanks for the post. I appreciate you adding more information to the team. The URL to your movie doesn't appear to be working here, though.

I think I understand your problem. Has your "on the fly trim" ever worked in the way you describe in previous versions? If not, I suspect that you are facing expected behavior. If that is the case, I'd be happy to move your post to the Ideas forum.

I hope to help you. Sorry for the frustration on this one.

Cheers,
Kevin

Issue - When adjusting a cut on a multi-camera sequence during playback the change is not recognized in the Program Monitor until you stop and start playback.

Adobe Premiere Pro version number: Version 25.1.0 (Build 73)

Operating system - Windows 10 Pro

System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM, HD:

CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 16-Core
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti

GPU driver - Version 560.94

RAM - 64GB

Hard Drive - Corsair MP700 Pro

Video format: Any compatible with Premiere. If it can be on a video track, it has likely been tried.

Workflow details: It does happen to be a multicam sequence. When setting up a multicam sequence my process has always been this:

  1. Create a sequence (Seq-1)
  2. Drag an audio file onto A1
  3. Drag in and sync videos to the audio that was placed on A1
  4. Create a new sequence (Seq-2) and drag Seq-1 into it
  5. Enable multicam on Seq-1

Steps to reproduce - (Very important!)

  1. Create a sequence (Seq-1)
  2. Drag an audio file onto A1
  3. Drag in and sync videos to the audio that was placed on A1
  4. Create a new sequence (Seq-2) and drag Seq-1 into it
  5. Enable multicam on Seq-1
  6. Start cutting by slapping dem number keys
  7. Playback with the Rolling Edit tool selected
  8. Adjust the cuts during playback as done in the attached video

Expected result - Adjustments to cuts should change in the program monitor without having to stop playback.

Actual resultThe adjustments do not change in the program monitor until after playback has been stopped.

Additional CommentsAnother thing that could possibly be related is that after the 5th step in “Workflow details”  the multicam cameras no longer show up as [MC1], [MC2] etc. like they did in v24.1. In v25.1 they instead show up with the title of the clip that is on their respective video track in Seq-1.
