Text-based Editing NOT generating transcript "No Dialogue Found"

Yes that was my solution as well. Good you got it working!

I was not successful using a stereo clip. I tried a sony FX6 mxf that is 4 track mono, and refused to transcribe in PR 24. Mapped to a single channel, it transcribes.

What is the clip that you are starting with? Mono or stereo? Are you in PR 24, using a source media transcription?

Okay, I think I found a solution that works. In the clip you want to transcribe you have to go to "Modify > Audio Channels". Make sure that the Clip Channel Format is Mono and Number of Audio Clips is 1. Then mark the channel with the audio you want to transcribe and it should be working properly. 

I know you're trying to be helpful here, and I appreciate the attempt to find fixes for this from many people. I have to point out that. So far I have tested all the proposed workarounds on the various iterations of this problem on the Adobe site and none work.

The nesting idea is great for some people I'm sure - the nested sequence DOES bring it's transcription with it, but it doesn't bring the SOURCE TIMECODE which is vital for me and many others I'm sure. A transcription that isn't linked to source timecode is useless and I can't find a solution anywhere to the 2-3 failures of the transcription feature that mean I can't rely on it.

That is frustrating, and something should work.

As a test, drag the clip to the new icon so you have a matching sequence. Go to the Text Panel -> Transcript  Tab. Pick the 3 dot menu and then pick Create Static Transcript. (If you don't see static transcript, be sure you have the sequence selected in the transcript panel.) Click the drop down if the properties do not show and set the audio to track 2. Does that create a transcript? If so, you use this nest sequence as your media, and it will work like a source transcript.

If that doesn't work, post screenshots of the timeline, transcript tab, and settings in the Create Static Transcript dialogue.

Thanks for trying. All of the methods in the post you linked to did NOT fix my issue. I'm working with an MXF file from my Sony camera. The audio is on track 2. It has 4 audio tracks. Doesn't matter which one of the methods I use, nothing works. This is exactly the reason why so many people are frustrated with Adobe. You create new features that are CLEARLY in Beta mode. Maybe before releasing them to the public, figured out the VERY simple issues such as the one I'm having, and address them. Because NOW, I've just wasted 3 hours troubleshooting something that Adobe should've fixed previously!!!!!!

Source transcription will only look at audio track 1 so far. Upvote this feature request which has workarounds:
