Why does my timeline jump whenever I scroll fast on the Program window to scrub through?

Like the title says, I've noticed this doesn't occur on smaller project sequences (Like under 10 minutes) but anything over that or around it does the EXTREMELY ANNOYING jumping thing. No idea what causes it or how to fix it. PLEASE HELP IM DESPERATE
