1280 X 720 60 FPS LOOKS HORRIBLE

I usually shoot with a P2 camera and a Canon camera for some shots. I have  never had a problem with the footage, I have done a few 1280 x 720 shots to slow it down in After Effects, I have imported 1280x 720 files and just scale to frame size without too much distortion. I just came back from a shot and my 1280 x 720 looks pixelated and with artifacts. My sequence settings are AVC Intra 100 1080i. When I edit it in the timeline and don't have to render it but it looks like hell. As it was shot wit a far lower resolution. I even created a new sequence and change the sequence settings to 1280 x 720 and it still looks bad. I did checked the 1920 x 1080 and it looks fine.

Computer with Premiere CC 2018, 32 Gigs of RAM, and Nvidia 1060 video card, preview at full resolution.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Andres

You are upscaling 720p to 1080i in your timeline?

What resolution is your Program monitor set to?

Is High Quality Playback toggled on?

Is your Program monitor set to display single fields or both fields?

1st test: force render a section of the 720p on the timeline and see if the image improves on playback.

Yes, I am using scale to frame size, my monitor is set to 1920 x 1080, playback is set to full, I don't know how to set display to single or both fields, I only got one monitor.

Click the wrench at lower right in the Program Monitor to reveal the drop down:

Did you try a test render?

Thanks, I rendered that portion, set display to both fields and still looks the same. Looks like 480 p
