add black slug to empty gaps in timeline?

I'm finishing up a short film in Premiere Pro CC. I have many empty gaps in the timeline for moments where I fade out to black for a moment, then fade back in, during scene transitions. I'll be exporting the film to color in Resolve, and also sending out OMFs to my sound designer. Is it a good idea to replace those empty gaps with black slug/video?

LOL, I figured. Mind if I ask for clarification? Is there a real-world scenario in which those gaps would be problematic? I kind of figured logically it would just be best but I'm also curious how those gaps might be interpreted in some workflow or situation.

Never leave gaps in the timeline, terrible idea. Use File > New > Black Video to create the slug that you can insert in such spots

    Thanks
