Question

Adjust timeline zoom speed with mouse scroll?

I use my mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out quickly on the timeline while I edit.

1) Often the rate of zoom is too fast though. Is there a way to adjust this in Premiere Pro? I want it to zoom in more gradually so I don't have to be super cautious with my scrolling.

2) When zooming out, instead of stopping at fully out it loops back around to furthest in? Any way to stop that?

Thanks 🙂

Hey, I had the same exact issue and I solved mine by clicking a little button on the mouse! So I had no issue with the zoom speed at first, but all of suddent the zoom speed rate changed same as you have described above. For me, the problem was I accidently had clicked on the button that is right below the mouse scroll wheel, so if your mouse also has a button right below the scroll wheel, then that should be the problem! It seems like only those big "gaming mouse" has that little button. If your mouse don't have that button, than I don't know what else would be the problem 😞

In Windows you can set a basic mouse wheel scroll speed. It default to 3 for both, but if you set it to 1, it will be a finer (slower) scroll.

This does not work for me. I set it 50 then 100 then max and it did not change scroll speed at all. Also restarted the program in between just in case.

I'm certain nobody planned on someone wanting to scroll 50 or 100 lines at a time. Did you try the One screen at a time option.

Call Microsoft if it doesn't work as desired.

They don't have an option for that, I think you would need to set the OS mouse scroll speed down a bit. Would be nice though ... I bet there's a request for that over on their UserVoice system. Go over there and search, and either create one or vote the best one 'up'.

Then come back here and post a link, so others can go upvote it.
